My first Members Statement
On Tuesday, I delivered my first member’s statement when I highlighted the great work of Montfort Renaissance which had an outstanding response to the COVID-19 crisis because they were able to implement quickly an already developed pandemic plan. This was my first time rising in the legislature for this type of statement and I wanted to recognize success in our community. You can watch my statement here
Bill 161 (Smarter and Stronger Justice Act) – Update
This week I presented 23 reasonable and sensible amendments to Bill 161. Access to justice, government accountability and francophone rights were the improvements I requested from the province. Unfortunately, the Ontario government is moving away from these concept despite very important concerns raised by the vast majority of witnesses that made submissions to the Justice Policy Committee. The Committee voted down every single one of these 23 amendments.
